Range held per product
Each product carries its own range - 2 to 8°C for a cold chain batch, wider for ambient goods - and the reading is judged against that range, not a generic threshold.
Excursion located, not guessed
When a reading leaves range, the breach is tied to the exact checkpoint, so the response targets one leg of the route instead of quarantining a whole batch.

Back in range, breach documented
T-11hAfter the reroute, readings return to 5.0°C. The excursion stays on the batch record for the quality review, with its exact location and duration.
